This is the border crossing from Mexico into Belize at Chetumal going to San Pedro by ferry boat or as they call it water taxi. It is a small boat only holding around 40 people. The trip takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes and costs around $75. I originated in Tulum and took the bus from there for 400 pesos. That bus ride took 2.5 hours. I originally intended to go to San Pedro that same day but ended up having to stay one night in Chetumal.

Is there a luggage security check in San Pedro or only passport, I see you keep the hand luggage but what about the big one?

I notice if you did some pre-planning before coming to Tulum from the States you would save on cost, extra days and booking extra night in Chetumal. I have taken the ADO bus from Play del Carmen - Tulum to Chetumal before but not on to San Pedro before.

Chetumal is the Capital City of Quintana Roo. It has many facilities and 4 malls!!
