I dont think effort is the word I would use. If you're consistantly in the word of God and yeilding to the Holy Spirit, you will grow. The beauty about being in the Word is it blesses you with spiritual wisdom and spiritual understanding(thru the Holy spirit). When you receive that spiritual wisdom and understanding it is a joy and delight to do what the word of God tell you. It becomes effortless. if youre not in the Word you become like driftwood and begin drifting away. your carnal man gets fed more and more. Just seek Gods face thru the word of God and strive only to get into the promiser rest written in the book of Hebrews. Jesus is that rest . When youre in that rest you can tell youre abiding

MODERN Bibles leave the word hell out of the Old Testament except the New Living Translation. It adds the word hell.
. They also reduce the number of times it is used. AND, they lrave it oit of Revelation all three times it us mantioned v 1:28, 6:8 and 20:13'14
No words to say that death and hell are thrown in the lake of fire!!!
Hell is still there.
Again, these bibles are cursed by God Himself. Revelation 22:13'14

Effort to develop fruit of the spirit??? I hear two different messages, one: we cant do it our selves only through the holy spirit, by the grace of God 2: we have to work at it. We have to fight for our faith but Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. I sway from terror at being lost and questioning my own faith to feeling like everything is ok and Jesus has got me, its very tiring and confusing. What does exercising effort look like? Doesnt God develope His character in us? How can we do it? Isnt effort just works? I cant be holy unless He makes me so.

My answer wd be are you a carrot or a stick person. If a carrot person then think of what Jesus did for us and being with Him soon and forever. If you are more a stick person think of hell. Where is there to go once you know.. Its FAITH. A belief that the bible is all REAL.
