From the co-creator of Sierra's Quest For Glory games comes the original Castle of Dr. Brain from 1991 for DOS PCs! And you know it pretty quickly from the sheer quantity of puns on offer.

Cool retrospective, thanks! I rate designing and developing Castle of Dr. Brain as among the best times I had at Sierra. One of these decades I'd like to make a similar game with more advanced puzzles and challenges. How about a 100x100x100 3D elevator maze? Kidding!

While writing the episode, Clint googles inventor of elevator (if not already known), finds a large enough digital image of Otis, prints it out, takes time to frame it, and finds a candle to light... all for a 4 second gag. Nice work!

I thought I was the only one that had a framed picture of Elijah Otis with me at all times to pray and make sacrifices to.

Damn, Electronics Boutique. You just brought me back to the mall of my childhood. EVERY trip to the mall required one stop in to that store to check out the new releases wall with all those big beautiful Boxes. PC Heaven.

Not only did I get a awesome new episode, but I now know who the inventor of the elevator is.

Clint, you're awesome. Just, awesome.

The Elijah Otis joke at 5:50 was funny, it's great to see new jokes and approaches and a bit of Clint's personality

Thank you for getting to this one! <3 This, The Lost Mind Of, and the Time Warp Of, Dr. Brain, were staples of my childhood. <3 This was the oldest edutainment game I remember ever playing. You made my morning, Deary.

LGR I hope you know that you are keeping these things you share alive. I appreciate how you remind us of history that is forgotten or overlooked. I would have loved to play this game!

OH MY GOD.... I had forgotten about this game. I've wondered for so many years why some of my edutainment memories from a kid didn't match the graphics style of the secret island of Dr. Quandary. or Gizmos and Gadgets (a game you should totally play.) I remember playing this game SO MUCH as a kid. I remember every single room, the rubber tree, everything. Wow what a throwback.

Yes! Finally! I remember asking you to do this for Edutainment Month about 4 years ago! Fond memories playing this with friends in elementary school and I feel the puzzles and puns still hold up pretty well! Thanks Clint!

I still remember that feeling of complete and utter disappointment when my parents would bring me an edutainment game they picked up usually at a garage sale or bargain bin at Hastings/CompUSA.

I then returned to playing Baldurs Gate and Fallout and Age of Empires 2, or Beyond Oasis or Secret of Evermore or Lufia 2... and quite often, legitimately learned more. >__>

8:16 Man, Corey Cole must have loved Monkey Island. That's the second reference I know of that he dropped into his Sierra games.

(The other was in the VGA QFG1 remake. When you're being quizzed by Erasmus' gargoyle, if he asks you "What is your quest?" one of the responses is "I want to be a pirate!" If you select it, he says "Boy have you got the wrong game!" and sends you back down the mountain.)

This Is one of my favourite games EVER!! I just had the robot head room theme in my head as I went to sleep last night!! This helped me so much as a kid. I REALLY think that it helped me know that I enjoy programming and helped steer me towards computer programming as a career. I LOVE this game! (but I still struggled with that maths block grid puzzle at puzzle two. Perhaps I should try it again some time...) :-)

Thank you for covering this game! I played it a lot as a kid, along with the Island of Dr Brain. Really fun puzzles.

I grew up playing The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain. Never realized it was a sequel!

I love your channel. My teens years were the 90s, and you bring a level of nostalgia that is just so heartwarming.
