Jervis Tetch, often known as The Mad Hatter, is a supervillain who frequently appears in DC Comics as a foe of the superhero Batman. He is based on the Hatter from Lewis Carroll's classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a character who is frequently referred to as the "Mad Hatter" in Carroll adaptations. The Mad Hatter is portrayed as a scientist who develops and employs sophisticated mind control gadgets to affect and manipulate his victims' thoughts. He is one of Batman's most enduring foes, and he is a member of the rogues gallery, a group of antagonists who make up Batman's rogues gallery. The Mad Hatter has been adapted into a variety of media, including feature films, television programs, and video games, based on the comics.

The Madd Hatter is one of my favorite Batman villains. So underrated and I still think he needs a movie appearance and I think if there's another Arkham Game the Madd Hatter needs to be the main Villain!

The Mad Hatter is one of the most scary but most underused Batman villains. He is second only to The Joker in my book.

Jervish Tetch / the Mad Hatter: one of the more criminally insane villains of the Batman. This incarnation is not
obsessed with a single "Alice" character but instead "friends" for his "wonderland"... by wonderland we mean an
area of underground gotham. see gotham is built on the ruins of "old gotham" a former habitat of pirates and
smugglers from a century past. Tetch intends to make this his wonderland. if that wasn't creepy enough, he uses
stolen bodies from morgues and graves to do so. a string of body snatchings has Gotham up in arms with fear when
the Batman first discovers it is Tetch behind the grotesque crimes. Only discovering this after Tetch had gone as
far as kidnapping live residents of Gotham and keeping them down in his necromantic lair. those who escaped lived
to tell and those who failed at escape were killed and kept forever or at least until the authorities and Batman
could "rescue" or retrieve their corpses. He's the first resident of the Arkham asylum wing of the Arkham institute

This video is really well done. I always find the rouges gallery’s relationships with one another much more satisfying as well as complicated. The rich history of Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman was fleshed out nicely in the Joker Wars and for example Selena as a long history with Dr. Crane/Scarecrow and their hate for one another. The tv series Gotham did a great job choosing to develop a historic relationship with Oswald and Riddler too. I hope the HBO series about Penguin as a king pin gangster introduces Black Mask as a primary rival.

*I remember this character from a video game* called “Outlast” that was obsessed with finding a Bride so much that he mutilated men to make them his “wife” (if you know what I mean) If they did that in a Batman movie with Mad Hatter and Alice instead of a Bride - with like a David Fincher vibe.. it’d be movie of the year.
