Any man that promotes, “thinking for yourself” on his channel, gets my sub. I really enjoyed this video!!! Thank you for the lesson, I was in need of some instruction.

One more suggestion: my first Dremel was very small and lightweight making it very difficult to prevent bouncing around and shaking. So, I taped a weight to the back of my Dremel to help stay still. I tattooed for 20 years and I used this same technique with my rotary tattoo machines which were usually extremely light weight compared to my coil machines. Cool machines can be from brass which is quite heavy. I had already been tattooing for 10 years before I picked up a rotary machine for the first time so to go from something very heavy to something very light made it really difficult to hold my hand still that’s when I just started putting weight on my machines.

I've used a Dremel for a number of purposes. But now I want to engrave on steel. Your tutorial was very clear and instructive. Great work. Thanks a lot mate!

I didn’t mind that
I’ve been engraving for 12 years and found this to be quite inventive
Nice work

After, you can reapply a stencil to block off the surrounding areas. Then use #0-000 steel wool and just brush the engraved area. This will smooth out the etching so it doesn’t look so rough.

Thanks so much (to everyone) for the tutorial and various ideas! I am 63 years old and starting this, especially at my age, is VERY difficult and even though I am skilled at wood carving (chip carving with a sharp knife) and other woodworking, I don't know if I can accomplish this type of work or not, but I'm going to try more for knife making and/or woodworking, so thanks again!

Suggestion: for smaller objects I like to duct tape them onto a larger round object. Like large jar lid. Sometimes I’ll even put a nail through the top of the lid so I can pivot the lid as I work my way around turns.

Hi, wanted to say thanks for this video. I'm wanting to start engraving on my jewelry (sterling silver) and your video goes a long way to give me some confidence to give it a try.

Hairstylist and salon owner learning jewelry, here... funny, you said kind of like hair, and it's exactly what I thought right then. Perfect way to explain that to me and fade away the fear. Lol! Cheers.

I'm late to the party but I really like the way it turned out. It looks handmade. Not factory done by a robot. Ther is something to be said about a hand craft. I'm about to start trying engraving and carving. I like the way you teach. It's extremely helpful watching you do it as you explain the process. Great video and I'm subscribing

Hey, I'm a new subber. I just randomly came across one of your videos on my newsfeed and got instantly hooked. I love the way you actually teach us the framework techniques of power carving rather than just showing us how to do it like so many others. I know what I mean - there is a difference in my head.
Anyway, you've helped me rediscover my passion for projects using my rotary tool, so thank you.
(My wife bought me the damned thing because I kept saying I wanted one, then she got pissed at me because I didn't really know how to use it.)
Great Videos, and thank you for saving my marriage and giving me a little peace and quiet in my workshop.

I like your explanation of using this video to get your creative process going!!! Very clever of you to say that.
Plus your safety guidelines. Safety first. I always stress this to anybody I'm teaching.
