When I was a kid in the early 1970s Taco Bell entered the Chicago market. They opened a location in the suburb of Lombard, IL where I lived. We loved it! The lowest priced item on the menu at that time were Frijoles. It was simply a cup of their refried beans with sauce and melted cheese and it was awesome for only 25 cents! They call it pintos and cheese now for $2.49 in the Chicago market.

Taco Bell has some cheap items which is great if you are tight on money or looking for a value. As with every place else prices did go up but they aren't gouging you like everyone else is. So respect for that.

Use their app and you can still get $5.00 meal, which is a drink, the cinnamon twist (or cheesy potatoes/nachos), a big taco of your choice (chalupa, quesadilla, supreme wrap, etc), and a small taco of your choice (a hard shell, 5 layer, etc). Get 1-2 of those, to fill yourself up, and you're good.

I just had the nachos like an hour ago and yes for 3 bucks it’s a deal I miss when Taco Bell use to have the nacho supreme and the triple layer nachos so this helps full that void

you have to get the chipotle ranch grilled chicken burrito. they are 2.49 where i live and IMO the best thing on the taco bell menu.
