Thank You. I went looking for the restored Church of Jesus Christ and I found it 50 years ago. I am 82 years old and I love the Book of Mormon more and more over the years. I have dreamed many dreams that the Holy Spirit gave me, some were to save my life ( I am a pilot) and some regarding my standing with the Lord and things I needed to improve. Joseph Smith was an open vessel and had to ask God what do do. Every time brother Joseph had a question he went to the Lord in prayer for direction and he received revelation. I see it, as I have had questions and needed help in my life. It was given me after I sincerely asked with real intent, not always immediately, but when I really needed it. God's will be done, as He knows the end at the beginning. Death is only the end of this mortal life and struggles but the beginning of a new adventure when we go home to our past families and loved ones. Nothing in this world is worth sacrificing the joy of going home with gladness and being with our past families in the spirit world. This life is temporary, it is a test. The Spirit World is permanent, so lay up treasures in heaven, have peace and look forward to graduating mortality. Why do some of Heavenly Father's children trade happiness in eternity for the temporary treasures in this life? Look inside your body and the beauty of this earth compared to the chaos of the other planets in our solar system. We can see God's work everywhere. Amen

i love the quote by JR Tolkien. I often feel like I want to go out and save the world. I want to do some grand thing on the earth and I love the image of keeping our gardens sustainable for future generations. The older I get the more I realize that doing this is a pretty grand thing. I know that I will now be able to read the lesson again with a better understanding of what is actually going on. I have struggled with "studying" my scriptures. Side Note: I am 78 years old, did not serve a mission (joined the Navy at age 17), primary calling in church has been "teaching" (with a couple of short stints as Bishop of Single Ward, and High Priest stuff), taught at university level of over 30 years. "Oh that I would have known then what I am learning now"!!!
Simply want to report that I am doing 3-5 different Come Follow Me podcasts each week (I am scrambling in an attempt to catch up- my life has been very much filled with trial and turmoil). Whose podcast do I view to start the week? Of course Tyler and Taylor's. Why? because their presentation provides a solid mental model for the week's lesson material e.g. their weekly podcast effectively serves me in the name of having a functional contextual "mental image" in my head, into which I can comfortably filter and store, compare and contrast, the content from other presenter's podcasts.
