My dad and I ran a business repairing and rebuilding david brown's in Australia in the seventies, I was in my twenties then, great tractor and easy to repair . I think you've done a great job .

Those are good tractors. I have acouple David Brown's 990 and 1690. Not restored but still farm with them. Db made nice heavy tractors

Your tractor is a 996 as it has a handclutch for the PTO and in 1973 the David Brown’s had a brown engine and gearbox with white wheels. Top class job!!

As someone else has already mentioned the colours were orchid white and thanks vermillion for the orange, even though this tractor was probably chocolate brown originally. Nice job.

Did you use Case orange, power red, or flambeau red? How many coats, and how many quarts?

I own a David Brown 950 implematic not restored and the block is cracked.

The fact that it has an independent pto clutch lever tells me that’s a 996 and not a 995.
