One of the best grinding methods is mining in the Water Cavern in Pinewood Hills. It is almost directly west of the Junction and northwest of the Raider Canyons. Due to a recent update that made it impossible to see underwater if the water is underground, the best route for Water Cavern was changed quite a bit. You should take a Tier 5/6 Pickaxe, some Weapons, and a Camp Tent. If you follow these instructions, runs should only take 4-5 minutes and should net you on average about $1,800 per run. You can get anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 with this method.
The instructions are as follows: you will want to enter from the rope entrance. Hug the wall of the rope to minimize fall damage. Then, run up to the ledge that prevents you from getting to the 2 Gold and 1 Silver and place a Camp Tent there and use it to get up. Although the Tent takes up an inventory slot, it's faster than the horse method or just trying to scale the steep area. Mine just the 2 Gold, then head back down and go through the parkour. Mine the 1 Gold in the parkour as well. Make sure you do not fall, as you will likely get attacked by the Gator. Then, mine the Gold and Silver on the other side. If you didn't fall or have any other delays, you should be able to mine 6 Silver before the Gold from the start respawns. Keep all Ores with you. Repeat this until your Backpack is full. Mine the Iron only if the Silver is exhausted. Sell the loot at Outlaw's Perch, as it is slightly quicker than returning to Bronze City. If there are many Outlaws in the server, you can play it safe and just go to Bronze City.

Each yellow dot signifies a Bear spawn. The numbers 1, 2, and 3 represent the order the Bears should be killed in. Once you get to 3 go back to 1, as by the time you get back the Bear should have respawned. You can, however, do it in any order you'd like. You should bring along a Sharps Rifle, Navy Revolver, and/or a Lemat Revolver/Lochke Revolver. Save as much room in your inventory as possible. You should hit one headshot on a Bear with the Sharps Rifle, then land another headshot with the Navy or Lochke (the Lochke deals around 60 damage if both of its bullets hit). Shoot a few more times if it proves fruitless. If you're ever in trouble, you can fan fire the Lemat.
It is suggested to start hunting at 6AM in-game time and go until it starts to get dark. Whenever your inventory is full, make sure to cook up all your animal meat and go up to Howling Peak to sell your goods. You should get a minimum of $2000+ depending on how much inventory space you have. It is not suggested to hunt at night, as the dark fur of the Bears make them blend in with the dark; though if you are brave enough, you can use a torch or lantern while hunting in the dark. during the night, you should go mine at the Water Cavern for Gold or hunt Bison instead. The light color of the Bison's horns contrasts with the inky black of the night, making spotting their heads a relatively simple task. If a Bear does kill you, don't panic—just spawn at Howling Peak and ride over to your loot as fast as possible. Howling Peak needs to be discovered before you can spawn there, so visit the town if it's one of your first times playing.
Note: From experience, it is highly recommended to stay on your Horse while you're sniping Bears. This will get you a quick escape if you miss the headshot. Reload and once you're far enough away, you can get off your Horse, turn around, and headshot the Bear very easily as it will generally run towards you in a straight path.
It is possible to headshot Bears from behind by climbing to an area higher than they are and by shooting their ears. The safest but slowest way to kill Bears is by headshotting them with the Sharps Rifle from a distance so far that they won't attempt to chase you, and then sniping them again. Alternatively, you can fan a strong secondary like the Lemat Revolver, Dragoon Pistol or the Lochke Revolver at the bears' heads, and take them out that way. When headshotting Bears, make sure you do so in a relatively clear area with no trees or rocks, because if there are any, its AI will cause it to go around them. This then makes it very hard to finish them off with other weapons, as they are moving around too much for you to aim and fire
