Fantastic video! Thank you. Very helpful. FYI drop frame TC is a way of counting frames so that 29.97 fps equals real time. It is used in broadcast so that timing of commercials and content can match real time. It does not change the frames that are recorded only how they are counted. 108 frames per hour are dropped from the count. Don’t use it unless there’s a specific demand for it. Thanks again!

I was waiting to hear something about the h4n pro. I have that recorder. So if I’m getting audio from the dj mixer, where do I plug my time code ? Into the line in on the recorder? Because the zoom h4n pro doesn’t have a mic input on the side

I have tested push in TC in my Tascam DR10L and Zoom H6 by recording audio TC in the beginning and then let them run the entire time. Then I put the clips in Tentacle Studio and read audio timecode from beginning and the files got tc in the metadata. A way of getting timecode to equipment that has no tc. No drift after 2 h.

there is a beebing sound recorded in the audio when using timecode in canon, is there a way to remove that beebing sound?

I get that each camera should have a timecode generator on it, but if you just jam sync from one generator to all cameras, for say a 5 hour shoot would there be any drift to deal with?

Ok....been watching a ton of your videos and you sold me on the time code thing. I went with the Diety TC1's (3 pack). My question is when you insert your media using time code and then insert your audio likewise, how do you create multi cam clips and the audio still be in sync? When I do them separately, it stays in sync, but when I try to do the multi cam clip and then try and add the audio, it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

So could I just set my timecode to 23.98 for the whole day and just record 60p when I feel like and when swap back to 24 for like the ceremony and things will be all good. I use timecode all the time for film sets as a production sound mixer but I have never shot different frame rates while only staying on 24p so Id be interested to see how that affects the syncs and if it will still sync all the 24 clips if the timecode is set to 24
