Abby Lyons - Was It Worth It? - storyboards from the music video

Here is the storyboard/animatic next to the final music video. I adjusted some pictures from the storyboard to line up better with the final version, but this was more or less our guide for the video. You can see there were some small changes made, like instead of a glass of water getting spilled, Sydney completely misses the patron's glass and spills the water all over the table. I drew everything, which was super fun, because I love drawing but don't get to do it that much at the moment.

When I made the storyboard, I experienced the worst writer's block ever. I set aside a whole day to make it, but I couldn't visualize what I wanted. I went on several long walks, stared at blank sheets of paper in my living room, and watched other videos to try to spark inspiration. Finally at 10 or 11 at night, I drew the "TikTok dance" at the beginning. It took an hour or more to draw the first 18 seconds, but after that, it was like driving with your headlights from California to New York... I just kept drawing the next detail I could think of until it was done.

I love seeing the vision and the reality side-by-side. The storyboard is kind of like seeing the graphic novel version of the song. Hmmm🤔💡
