How to Change your ac belt on the earlier model 11 Ford 5.0 and the same for the 3.5

Just so everyone knows this may not be a one time, two time try to get this to stretch over. It’s an absolute pain in the ass and a wonder why no one on YouTube has a vid showing from start to finish they just skip to when it’s finished. This fuckin belt will snap off almost every time trying to get it on doesn’t matter if you use a zip tie or not. Snapped off 4-5 times first try for me and I ended up having to literally walk snap tie this shit finally using 3 heavy duty 30” zip ties with a tensioner I finally got it after like 90 minutes in the blazing sun.

Yes go behind the crank pulley. I watched videos of people doing from the front of the crank pulley with luck. This won't ever work. I spent hours trying to do it from the front of the pulley. So take your belt and stuff it behind the crank pulley and make sure it's flush sitting on the alternator pulley. Zip tie it as close to where you have it tucked in and crank clockwise. This will work

So you "wrap belt around the ac pully then just "lay the belt on top with a zip tie on it" and "torque it" and it magically ends up wrapped around the other pulley. Are you Penn or Teller?

That can't be a 5.0 because the 5.0 in f150s had tensioners for both belts. My 2012 5.0 has 2 tensioners. I know the ecoboost has a stretch belt.

Yeah just broke my 3rd zip tie. Ford told me the Ac compressor has been known to shift over time (wtf) and I should spend a shit ton of money and work to get a new timing chain cover and the pulley for the AC. This is a problem Ford knew about and the ones like me who bought a 2011 just get screwed left and right. Literally sitting here with no way to get this belt on and Ford is telling me not to try to move the ac compressor cause it could do actual damage to the block....great engineering.
