Fun facts : During the Napoleonic war, French Empire defeated 6 coalition including UK, Russia, Austria, Prussia, Sweden and Spain. France has sharpen the face of Europe by giving democratic constitution to most Italian and Germany states and abolished the privilege of nobles for greater equality among the people. A lot of the defeated were supporting France cause and specialy a german philosopher called Hegel who saw Napoleon as the man who will liberate Europe from absolute monarchies. Also the Sweden royal family has origin from France napoleonic war. Their king was a french general named Bernadotte who fight beside the Emperor and betrayed him after being procalemed king of Sweden by this one and seing the Emperor in difficulty during Russia winter. Spain was under french domination Napoleon wanted to rebuild navy forces thanks to Spain because the french navy has defected since 1789 revolution. In fact, Spain american colonies should belongs to France . One of the reason that pushed the independence movements of south American countries was the military weaknesses of Spain which was under french domination. A last thing, Prussia which was the strongest Germany state at this time and Austria were included into french "continental system" after being defeated. And Russia too was included before the last Russia campaign. The reason of "continental system" was If he could not invade UK because of the roayl navy supremacy, Napoleon wanted to ruin their economy. Napoleonic war has beginned at 1792 and finished at 1815 with the exile of Napoleon to Uk Saint Helene isle. As a french I had to write these lines to try to rehabilate the history greatness of France.Second world war defeat against the Reich is shame for us and has tarnished our foreign reputation.
