I put this in my sets 4-5yrs ago, and it always gets a great response. Surprised though, how many people don't remember it! That's how I pick my sets purposely. Little known or forgotten music treasures, that the radio didn't wear out & make you sick of.

First hearing and I love it ... always loved her voice. "Half The Way" is my all-time favourite, but this challenges. The Don Williams chug-a-long beat is what captures the ear.

kentuckywoman. 1973. Met love of my life @ 20 yrs old. He drove a cattle truck. He'd call & I started packing the tote. My sweet Momma would say 'Hear U Go Down That Wrong Road Again!' & my reply 'But I LOVE HIM MOMMA!' Now 42 yrs later I'm still going down that wrong road again every time he calls! Makes me feel 20 y.o. again every time I hear his voice. Still get nervous. Giddy. Hard to imagine it but it's true. Wrong roads can last a lifetime w a WHOLE lot of fun mixed in! Wouldn't change a second of any of it!! He jumped right into my heart & he's still there & he always will be. Not a Cinderella story just a good ol' true love story!!

I think this song means . It seems like this song is saying that his one true talent is tricking her . You'd think she'd catch on, but some people just don't . He's got this pull on her like a magnet she just can't break away from . He's got a way with words, always convincing her that he is a changed man, but it's same old story - he ends up shattering her heart every time . Just down the wrong path, yet again . Wrong Road Again

this was Gayle's first top 10 single which she'll keep scoring the next 12 years including 13 number one songs which even made a splash on the pop charts. This singe from 74 was a step to find her own musical identity that won over a lot of fans.

I turned 21 in ‘73 & was acting wild with a few fast women, then I met Susie. She played this song for me & I was hooked on Susie & Crystal. 🥴
