Loose watercolor flowers look effortless but they just aren’t the same to paint. This is how to make it easier.

the repeat and slow motion as you call it is super useful, especially with your explanations 🙂 BTW it's dangerous to watch your videos before I'm done with work 😉 I can't think about anything else but painting and trying new things using your tips and tricks!

Yes, repeat and slow down! Thank you, Kristy. That helps me a lot. It takes me a minute to see and absorb what you are demonstrating.

To watch you is wonderful, and yes please slow down at times and repeat to really teach me! I’m not a newbie at watercolor but I’m aging! I’m interested that you can purchase Round Watercolor Paper! Your loose stroke way is amazing and I know I need to Loosen Up my grip on my brush! Thanks Karen Dirmish

The repeat and slow mo is my jam, to borrow your phrase! Very helpful. I also decided that to practice this tutorial I would take a piece of square paper and make a large circle inside it to replicate the round paper...instant fibonacci spiral reminder!

Love the repeat and talk through slower version - I didn't realize it was the same painting you did before until maybe halfway through. Repetition is how we develop muscle memory and it's more fun to do it alongside you!

I find painting hard in general, lol. Someone once said that there are two types of artists - the creator and the one that re-creates a piece. I'm the second type and finding this out brought so much peace into my life. I struggle really bad with perfectionism and wanting to draw from imagination (or transfering what I see onto the paper). This loose painting style is great and I really want to do it, but interpreting what I see with it feels so hard.

I really like the repeat/slow down in these tutorials! It really helps me understand better and physically see how the brush is supposed to react to the verbal instructions you share - EXCELLENT!!! I just love the way you teach and the lightness you bring to what can sometimes feel like a stressful endeavor.

You got a huge amount of shape variation from just a few brushes! It really is worth the time to just practice making marks- getting familiar with the paint behavior, physical properties of the brush, and as you put so well, developing "muscle memory". This lesson is going to change some artists' work in a big way!

Kristy, you are my first art teacher! I have been watching you paint and painting with you for less than 2 months. I am amazed at what I have done! The slow motion, or step by step explanations are so helpful. Thank you ever so much!

The slowing down and explanation was very helpful! I believe I recognize the painting from a previous tutorial about composition 🤔

I love the side view “replay”. I’m new to watercolors and it’s very helpful. I appreciate ya!

Yes! The slowing down and repetition is very helpful! Im sure you have said this before, but I just “heard” this: paint a thing over and over and over to get muscle memory.

I love these tutorials. I keep watching them, but I need to sit down and regularly do the exercises. I finally got a recommended watercolor pad. I was using Canson

It’s really hard to make a floral a hot mess! But I love the look of loose paintings.
