Cool vid.
There's always some tips I haven't thought of that ye enlighten us with.
In my experience dealing with shoestring-budget indie films, I've come to find "rim lighting" (w/ slightly less fill, so both the rim light is more dominate & the overall look is less "flat") adds a LOT of "production value" to that cinematic look.
A lot of people seem to think a "cinematic look" is all about the camera, but I disagree, unless you're looking at dynamic range), I think the "look" of movies comes from dynamic lighting -- and most folks don't realize how important (& rather inexpensive) good SOUND adds to "production value" of simulating a "professional" feel.
So, yeah, "3 point" but with a bonus of that "rim" lighting (which, does take more time to set up & film).
But that's just my thoughts.
