I prefer the alternate ending where Rocky wins. More emotional to me as it shows how the old war horse proved everyone wrong again by not only going the distance but beating someone he was seen as having no chance against. That in my opinion would have summed up the franchise better with him going out on top. Either way, great movie.

I never watched any of the Rocky movies, having just experienced the franchise through cultural osmosis. I'm enjoying these videos, though, and maybe one day I'll get around to giving the movies a chance. Thanks for shedding a positive light on the subject.

Crazy to think I would ever get so close to see rocky, the training scenes of mason dixon (Antonio tarver) were shot at a close down gym on St. Louis street in Los Angeles ca, I lived down the block, I remember when they were shooting for the movie

I always felt like they (at some point in the series) should have made a mention that Rocky will only fight with the 3 knockdown rule waived, because the Rocky Character gets knocked down a lot. Most fights have a 3 knockdown rule in effect, if you go down 3 times in one round, that’s it, the fight is over. Think it was Rocky 4 with Drago, he went down A LOT. Even if your only knocked down the one time, but you stagger getting to your feet and go down again that counts towards the 3 knockdown rule (think Mike Tyson vs Trevor Burbick)

A better version of rocky balboa could’ve had Adrian be alive, but similar to rocky himself in creed, she’d be sick with cancer during the film, and his reason for taking the fight would be soo he could earn enough money to afford Adrian’s life-saving treatment. Everything could go the same, and we’d see rocky caring for Adrian similar to how Donnie did the same for rocky, and at the end adrian would get the treatment and the cancer would be in remission. Then they could’ve made it so she passed before the events of creed.

#4 the real reason is because adrien died of cancer... 🙏🙏🙏

Mmm according to other sources Talia Shire was put out of the script not por the emotional weight, not at the beginning at least. She was in legal affairs and problems with MGM, about money, she had been working with them all her career practically, so she denied to keep working for them, and Stallone just went with it.

I left would have left Adrian in.
The movie would have evolved into 2 entities.
Something along the line of Castaway with Hanks.
He's marooned then it's 5 years later.

Gonna have to call BS on the last one. No way Tarver would hit Stallone with full power!

It's never made any sense to me when actors put their bodies in harms way to get that "realistic shot". Stallone's done it. Jackie Chan....etc....was it actually worth it? Amazingly these guys are still able t to enjoy their forturne and aren't wheelchair bound or dead. Though, I'm sure they have damage from their accidents and betings that they probably never mentioned. And never will. Even if they look fine to us....being able to walk around and talk.

Just takes one clean blow to any one's head to forever change their lives for the worse. Or one nasty fall. JUST ONE. Why these guys don't just use camera tricks and angles ... I mean we don't go to see films for the degree of realism over the how "real" a punch looks on the big screen when it connects....it's so fast ...no one is going to be able to be critical....

On the other hand Stallone actually did know whee to draw the line....when he was casting for Rocky 3. I heard he wanted to have known ex-heavyweights and middleweightts. Went one round with them and knew it would be too dangerous....so he got "Mr.T"....big strong guy at the time but not a pro fighter....I suppose because he knew he'd want thtme to make contct in the filming...heh....WHY??? :

Cruise is another one to do this....puts his body at risk. Gets injured. Heals. Does it again. Though not to the extent of Jackie Chan. Chan should have died decades ago. But amazingly he's still walking and talking. Able to do great interviews.... not talking with slurred speech or walk with a slight limp...
