For those that think Polygel is a safe alternative her big toe is here to show you CLEARLY it will damage your nails the same as any other artificial nail will but this seems more fit for the non nail techs

Friendly warning: the big toe looks like it’s developing a fungus that could possibly be because of using the polygel. Putting hard substances on toes you have a higher risk of developing fungus or having the entire nail bed lift off the toe if you kick something too hard. A more flexible product should be applied to the toe to prevent this from happening. I’ve had person experience with kicking the back of someone’s sneaker while walking in flip flops after getting a gel manicure on my toes and had this happen to me. It is PAINFUL, takes time to heal, and you have a risk of infection. Please use good judgment when applying products to toes. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Listen the drilling part is why I started doing my own nails after 20 plus years of getting my nails down faithfully except while I was deployed for a year. My last nail would drill up so high, it made my nail beds hella weak. After five almost six months of just use gel extensions my beds have been nursed back to health! Saved myself about $600 so fa, no lie doing my own nails ❤

Do NOT soak feet (or nails) *immediately* before adding nail enhancements like this. They are wide open to moisture being sealed in, leading to fungus. You can do it, just do it hours before or something.

Stop pulling those tips off you toenails…you can get a glass bowl, cotton, acetone and foil.
I like to file off the top coat to break the shine seal, take the cotton, cut them with scissors, put the cotton on the pads, wrap aluminum foil over them, wrap your feet in towels…keeping them warm helps the acetone break down the product SAFELY.

You can’t treat the toenail nail plate like it’s made out of concrete.
You must protect THE HEALTH OF THE NAILPLATE BEFORE BEAUTY.
