Great playing as always, sir! You remind me how inventive, playful, and emotive you can be with just a handful of notes... i know the Nikriz pentachord, but have a couple questions about the larger Makam: So from the 5th scale degree, you've got what sounds like either a rast (or maybe even acem), and a buselik (or nihavend) leading back up to the octave? Is this right?
( To ears used to a lifetime of equal temperament trying to now learn makam and maqam, it sounds very close to simple major and minor, but i am dying to know what microtonal differences the theory calls for... While my ear is pretty good, discriminating a single comma is still a challenge!)
