A multi stakeholder, GIS Based Approach to Support Land Use Decision Making

Presenter: Karen Raven, Land Use Unit in the Environmental Stewardship Branch of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry

About Karen:
Karen was raised on a ranch in the Southern Interior of BC where she gained her love of the land. She has her Bachelor of Natural Resource Science (Thompson Rivers University) and Masters of Science in Rangeland Resources (Oregon State University) Karen is the Manager of the Land Use Unit in the Environmental Stewardship Branch of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. Her work focuses on support to the Land Use Framework regional planning initiatives, ecosystem services, agricultural sustainability initiatives, conservation offsets, and biodiversity. Grassland conservation and stewardship on working landscapes are close to her heart and drive her collaborative efforts with others. Karen is the current Chair of the Alberta Prairie Conservation Forum.
