Ryzen 7 5700X3D vs Ryzen 7 9700X - Big Difference?

In this video, I'm testing the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D vs the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X in different games like Fortnite, CS 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p, 1440p and 4k gaming and synthetic benchmarks with the RTX 4090 24GB. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D came out in the beginning of 2024, it has 8 cores with 16 threads, the base frequency is 3.0GHz and the turbo frequency is 4.1GHz. The R7 5700X3D has a TDP of 105W and has a transistor size of 7 nm. The AMD Ryzen 7 9700X came out in 2024, it has 8 cores with 16 threads, the base frequency is 3.8GHz and the turbo frequency is 5.5GHz. The R7 9700X has a TDP of 65W and has a transistor size of 4 nm. The Nvidia RTX 4090 24GB came out in 2023, it has 24GB of GDDR6X memory with a memory speed of 21Gbps and a bandwith of 384 bits. It has 16384 cuda cores with a turbo frequency of 2.565GHz.

Latest and up to date Windows 10 Pro (activated) with only the game running, dedicated game launcher and MSI Afterburner in a room at ~20 degrees. No settings have been tweaked in Windows, only the bios has been set to the XMP profile to run the ram at its dedicated speed. The gaming footage is then captured using the Elgato HD60X that runs to a laptop, in this case the Dell Vostro 7620.

thank you for including syntethics and workstation performance at the end, even though the gaming performance is very similar, those might be the deciding factor for some people and they so often get overlooked :)

and thought of doing a proper am5 upgrade while i am at it

but looking at videos i feel like it almost makes more sense to just grab a decent and cheap am4 matx mobo and continue with my 5700x XD

What does pubg do different that makes the 5700x3d so bad(1% +.1%) in comparison to other games? just random beginning stutter? Shifts in other games

A good test for this type of cpu are with another gpu like 4070 ti, super or a 7800 something like that.
That way we would know exactly how they would work in our system or potential system.

Own a 5800x3d CO -30 and BLCK 102.5 Mhz. Boost to 4650 stable. Tuned DDR...and so on. My CPU will kill this cpu or at least are same. Worthless to buy this, hope we get a better 9800x3d...

Both are too slow for 4090 at 1080p, GPU stays under 80% usage in many games.
