Ryzen 7 5700X vs Ryzen 7 5700X3D - 3D Cache Better?

In this video, I'm testing the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X vs the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D in different games like Fortnite, CSGO 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 in 1080p, 1440p and 4k gaming with the RTX 4090 24GB. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X came out in 2022, it has 8 cores with 16 threads, the base frequency is 3.4GHz and the turbo frequency is 4.6GHz. The R7 5700X has a TDP of 65W and has a transistor size of 7 nm. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D came out in the beginning of 2024, it has 8 cores with 16 threads, the base frequency is 3.0GHz and the turbo frequency is 4.1GHz. The R7 5700X3D has a TDP of 105W and has a transistor size of 7 nm.

Latest and up to date Windows 10 Pro (activated) with only the game running, dedicated game launcher and MSI Afterburner in a room at ~20 degrees. No settings have been tweaked in Windows, only the bios has been set to the XMP profile to run the ram at its dedicated speed. The gaming footage is then captured using the Elgato HD60X that runs to a laptop, in this case the Dell Vostro 7620.

Btw, the Ryzen 7 5700X has a TDP of 65W and NOT 105W, as you mistakenly mention in the descr and its an important factor cause it combines low consume, like a Ryzen 5, with high performance!😉

5700X3D is a 5800X3D that didn't bin out. That is how the 5700X3D came to be. They are chips that didn't quite make the cut. AMD found a way to sell it. Good for them.

If you already have a 5700X or 5600X. There is no reason to take 5700X3D, these CPU can be overclocked 4.65-4.75ghz very easily. But if you have Zen 2 or Lower, 5700X3D is the way to go with AM4 platform

Regarding your Apex legends tests. You are not going to see much of a difference in the firing range. Best way to test is in the dropship at the start of a map. On my 5600x CPU usage remains at 100% until I land. With a rx 6600 xt I am bottlenecked by my CPU at 1440p. Not Shader caching or asset loading. This is a true test of what difference a CPU makes in that game.

Hi, which CPU would you recommend between the 5700x and 5700x3d for both gaming and overall usage like little bit of light compression - decompression, Coding, heavy browsing, video playback etc? Does the x3d feel little bit slow compared to the standard 5700x for day-to-day tasks because of its slower clock speed?
I have a b450 mobo and rx 6700xt GPU. I'm confused between these two for my final upgrade on AM4. I sure want higher FPS in games but i do not want my system to feel slow/sluggish outside of gaming.
I want to know your thoughts since you have both as i've seen in your videos. Thanks

Well, when the V-Cache helps, it helps a lot. But I just don't like that low 4.1Ghz turbo boost. However it doesn't seem to hurt performance by much.

For Warzone 3, the stats for the x3D are obviously way better, but looking at the actual footage I'm seeing stuttering in the 5700X3D footage in some places that I'm not seeing in the 5700X footage. What's up with that?

Theres alot difference in fps games.

For my valorant, my 5700G runs at 180-260fps, while on 5700X3D runs at 630+800fps in high settings, average of 720fps
