Chris Evans almost didn’t get the part. It is hard to imagine anyone else portraying Captain America as well as Chris Evans did, but in actual fact we very nearly didn’t see him in that role due to him turning down the part several times before finally accepting. Evans said anxiety over the role was one of the main stressors for declining the role but has since said that finally saying yes to the job is one of the best decisions he has ever made and has thanked Marvel CEO, Kevin Feige, for being persistent and not allowing him to make the greatest mistake of his life.
