An EYE on training
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented and unwelcome effect on current and future GI endoscopy training. “Flattening the curve” of the pandemic did not translate well into improving the “learning curve” of trainees. Probably it will be months before training programs are back on track in the majority of units. During this time the community and the ESGE will continue to address the suddenly increased need for educational content dedicated to trainees and young endoscopists.
Answering the call, the ESGE Young Endoscopists (EYE) participated in this webinar dedicated to training in endoscopy, discussing the impact of the COVID-19 restrictions on fellows and their mentors, and strategies to get the most out of training in the following period.
