Hello Math Sorcerer. Hope You are doing fine. I am your subscriber from India in High School . I just want to thank you for your wonderful advices which have made me better at Math. In 2023 I was struggling at math, in my exam I scored 27/80. I almost failed my test I only passed with 1 mark, That a very bad moment for me. Afterwards I found your video on how to self study math, watched you other videoes and followed your advice. My teacher and parents also helped me. Few Days back I got my test report and this time I have scored 79/80 I was only 1 mark behind from scoring a perfect score. I will always be indebted to you for your kind act.
Thank You So Much.
Regards
Kush Panchal

This sounds very useful for engineers who learned differential equations only from mathematical perspective and have little undrestanding how it applies to real world problems.
Thank you for introducing it.

Finishing up precal this summer and taking calc 1 in fall! Can't wait to start learning calculus 😮😊

I took differential equations. I wish to take PDE. I love the theoretical side of it how we solve differential equations of the original function and its derivatives of any order into one equation with different methods rather than using a lot of numerical examples, whether integrating or deriving, but since it deals with growth rates and such, I'm not sure why they weren't used in my master Economics program. We used mostly an advanced kind of linear algebra with variance of a transposed inverse matrix that goes on for too long sometimes. How would differential equations apply to Economics? I know Economics has a growth rate particularly an fractional exponential one like Cobb Douglas.

Thank you, Math Sorcerer. I've heard math professors themselves describe differential equations as a 'bag of tricks' with no united idea. People I know who have taken the introduction course say it was hard to truly understand what was going on. What would you say to a student interested in the topic but hearing most people don't get as much from the course as they would like? What's your perspective?

I always thought that DiffEQ was very Steampunk. The kind of math that would really make sense during the industrial revolution. All of the machines, steam power, all of that ... a whole mechanical world ... really seems to resonate intuitively with DiffEQ. Beautiful subject area.

Hi math sorcerer! Great review as always! I am thinking about buying a dover book on linear algebra by Shilov, have you had any experience with it? I haven’t seen much linear algebra, other than basics from calculus, however I am quite interested in the subject. I’ve heard that Shilov is a hardcore writer, especially for beginners, however the difficulty of the subject is something that attracts me to learning it the hardcore way first. What’s your thoughts on this?

DE is useful in physics and engineering but also in chemistry, biology, and even in social sciences.
