I actually find tarantulas way less unnerving than regular spiders 😂 I think it’s because the little house spiders are so fast? And they just run under posters, into couches and beds…I just don’t like when they disappear 😂

That tarantula owner feel of "She's actually a girl!" I had a desert blonde from basically a hatchling and when her pedipalps finally popped I was like, "I'll guess I'll enjoy the rest of the time she has but I know it's not gonna be long." I would also love some tarantula vids. :)

Thank you for showing all of your pets! I always wonder what sorts of animals different people like to keep. I've wanted a little leopard gecko, but my family isn't fond of reptiles, so instead I just have cats. I have to live vicariously through reptile owner videos instead.

I personally don't like tarantulas but you are a good animal keeper and i think you should share your tips and experience with other people who want one

Cool stuff! Makes me miss when my house was like that!! Also couple points about the calathea that could help you - they won't really thrive under intense lighting, rather they like bright and indirect light; they don't want darkness obviously, but they grow naturally on the forest floor in central and South America. That's why if you notice, the backsides of many calathea leaves are purplish or red... It's to absorb as much light as they can on the darker ground level, with many giant trees & shrubs above them. But too dark and they lose their photosynthesis ability and colors..

Maybe you know this one but they prefer the highest quality water you can give them! I.e., reverse osmosis... but in lieu of that, they'll do fine with spring water, filtered "drinking" water, and even basic Brita or Pur pitchers. I'm assuming you give your reptiles good water though 😇 I've also wondered if they'd be ok with water treated with ReptiDrops or aquarium water conditioners. Never tried.

Enjoyed seeing all your reptiles.
I have hard time keeping plants a live too you are not alone in that.
I am going to get a new tarantula from Pods Solo this week I can pickup local so I like having them in my area. That is were I get my isopods from.

My son wanted a tarantula, we got a beta fish. Then we got hermit crabs. Then a gecko, then a bearded dragon. At this time, we have a bearded dragon and 3 hermit crabs. One of the crabs we had for 4 years. The other 2 crabs we have had for over a year. The crabs are easy to care for. They are in a tank with a heating pad, sand, they get saltwater and freshwater.
