TO THE GUYS WHO WANT am not doing that kind of work anymore. Been there done that....For those guys....good luck to them wasting all their precious make something perfect that they NEVER drive because they have so much invested in it.... Can I do that kind of but I say is the I want something I can drive and not have a lifetime invested in it. LIFE IS FOR LIVING not to prove a learned.

Don't know who made the "half ass" comment but they aren't in touch with reality. That van is fantastic!! I'd be proud to drive it. By the way, doing bodywork/sheetmetal body repair is an incredibly DIFFICULT and lost art. Good on you for jumping in and getting it done the best you could with the time and money you had!!

Nice rescue, Very few people want a show car. They want something solid and good looking they can drive. Good Job!

Clever way to make those rounded corners. Excellent work. Gives me confidence on my 81 Vanagon project

It is too bad that people complain. I'm glad a VW was restored and not left to turn to rust and dust. There is no perfection we're just glad you did a nice job bringing one back!

great job with your restoration! Don't worry about the people telling you that you could have done a better job in certain places. I have to confess that before restoring my first car (1988 Trabant 601) I was one of those people who were rather nit picky in the comment section of these videos, but now I can appreciate the hard work that went into these videos a lot more

Hey man Kevin here from Australia. I would be proud to own and drive that bus but someone's put the steering wheel on the wrong side. 😜😜😜.
But seriously you two have done that bus proud. 10/10 from me.
✌ Peace guys.

Mike, 3 of my split buses look like this and your work and videos inspire me to get going. People around me just don't understand what is possible...and that's just the way it is. They are waiting for this same level of love you showed here. I know I can bring them all back, I know they are good buses. I wish I could send one to you for a MIke Makeover ! Your video motivate me to try, to go do ... Your videos pop up in the daily recommendations. THANK YOU.

Can’t believe I’ve just sat and watched the super speed video, having watched every minute of it in real time over the last few months. Great stuff, Mike. You’ve inspired us all in all four corners of the 🌍 Before watching you, I’d tackled everything VW repair related, other than the metal work. Thanks to you I now own my own MIG and am gettin amongst it out in my garage ! All the best. Ben 🇬🇧

Awesome Job! You brought back memories of helping my dad restore a "57 Chevy in our garage when I was in High School early '80s. Thanks for sharing your restoration.

I really enjoyed watching the build and you comments on how it doesn't have to be perfect, the bus looks great.
Stay safe and Enjoy the Day

It's my understanding that all '67 VW's built before Jan. 1967 did not have back up lights. This was before the federal mandate took effect. Those built as of Jan. 1st 1967 did have back up lights when the new law took effect..

Absolutely love it! As an owner of a 1960 Beetle, I didn't expect to find this video so satisfying. Amazing job, wonderful craftsmanship.

My brother lost his license to drive from too many speeding tickets in his Charger so once he could legally drive again he bought a used VW bus. Had it 10 years & never got a ticket. Even during Jimmy Carter's 55 mph speed limit. Driving home was a 500 mile round trip he did flat out once a month so he learned to adjust the valves often. He wore out one engine & had a rebuilt engine installed. This was the one vehicle he never let me drive. A relative had one of these & it carried 4 adults & 3 of us kids up & down hills all over southern New Mexico. Not fast but it got us home. It is an interesting vehicle. Small air-cooled engine did the job.
