My understanding is it is 2 hours in advance for domestic and 3 hours in advance for international flights. This has been a long standing rule.

This woman was cutting it way too close.

Arriving 45 minutes before your flight is ridiculous. 2 hoirs for domestic, 3 for international. Minimum.

Have you noticed that organizations and businesses that have near monopoly on the service or product don't really care how much of YOUR time they use?

Sorry but these days, you can't show up the minimum amount of time before check in and expect no issues. I feel bad that her gamble didn't pay off, but when it comes to the airport now, you need to give yourself a lot of extra time despite whatever you had done in the past.

The real story here is that Air Canada had a flight leave on time

Who's still checking in in-person, and not online or app 24 hours prior?

Who only gives themselves 45 minutes to check in at an airport 😂

"It makes things more confusing than it needs to be."

Welcome to Air Canada.

1:22 poor girl, if only there was an app that could navigate you to a place and tell you how long it would take… 🤦‍♂️

I don't think this is an issue. It's always better to arrive early and have that extra time and take it easy.

Anyone that has common sense would be at the airport 2 hours before flight time.
Why should the plane wait for those who can’t get to places in time.

We have for the last decade was told we need to be at check in two hours ahead

Air Canada always notifies passengers well in advance. No excuse for not making your flight. It’s not confusing at all!

She didn't have a phone with Google maps so she could see how long it would take to get there?

This is not news, this is common sense, but there are peoples who don't have in this era., and blaming everyone but not herself.

A day ago I travelled Calgary to Montreal and Air Canada said to be there 3 hours before! That's insane for a national flight. What is it - 5 hours for international flights?!

SHe was cutting it to close with everything and security could delay this person as well. Pretty naive in my opinion

Who expects to get to the airport 30 minutes before the flight?? 45 minutes she thought was ok? I get there 2 hours before. The security checking sometimes is long let alone the checkin desk and baggage. Get there 2 hours before, bring a book and go get some refreshments. She deserves what she got.
