For me personally, your info on weight loss, is the best I’ve ever heard, because it is sensible, healthy, feasible and the truth. Thank you Amy! 🌻

you look amazing, thank you for all the info, you're keeping me motivated, I have about 100 lbs to lose, I think eating was my "comfort" with the loss of my mom about 5 yrs ago and then the loss of my husband a year ago. I've been exercising and eating healthier, started about 1.5 wks ago and i'm down 2 lbs, that keeps me motivated also

Amy you handled the questions perfectly. I am a mother of three and a long time professional trainer and fitness instructor. A lot of people tell me I am “lucky” to not have a weight problem and I respond that I try to be very conscious of my food and activities. There is no magic but a change in lifestyle that produces results, as you know😉. I am glad you are using this platform to help others. You should be proud of yourself!

One pro for intermittent fasting is that like if you are pre diabetic (like I was), it “spends” the “built up sugars” in your liver basically. In three months, my A1C dropped from 5.8 to 5.3. So that’s a consideration for some. Not everyone. Folks with certain (not all) Pre diabetes risk factors really kinda need that break from food to let their bodies “catch up”. UNLESS your diet is like perfectly balanced. Like you said. Calories need tracked. Just frees us up some brain space soo we’re not obsessing

You are SO right when it comes to cheat meals or drinking. “I’ll start my diet on Monday.” — To diet just enough for vacation and then health doesn’t matter anymore. It’s such a toxic mindset.

I can’t tell you how much this video has helped me! I started a weight loss journey about three weeks ago and haven’t seen much of a change and was starting to get a little discouraged. I know it takes time, but I’m a type of girl that wants to see results yesterday! This video brought me back down to reality. Thank you so much.

I was 169 lbs.
i am now 145 lbs.
my weight fluctuates a few pounds.
From 145 it was 150 last night 😂 🤷‍♀️
Thats ok this morning it went down to 147.
I weigh myself daily.
It helps me stay on track.
It does not control me or upset me.
I have to watch this video again so everything stays in my brain. 😂

I'm rewatching some of your older videos to get motivation. I am at a very similar spot as you were. I just want health, but am at 230 pounds on my 5'5 frame after a very hard couple years with my Dad battling cancer and going to heaven rhis fall. I just want ro be healthy for my kids and know that tomorrow isnt promised. So I want to honor God by being the healthiest, best version of myself. Who he made me to be. It feels so daunting though. I have lost 70 pounds in the past after my babies and kept it off for about 5 years, but once my kiddos were in school I got a sedentary job and made poor nutritional choices. Add in a ridiculous amount of stress over a few years and here I am. I pray God helps me because I hate to feel this way. Thanks for your encouraging words and sharing your journey. Hopefully in a year I can be celebrating too!

One of the things that hit home with me in this video was the question about what was key in the beginning of your journey that allowed or motivated you to keep going. I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkins Lymphoma back in November 2018 and had to undergo six rounds of chemotherapy. During that process I went from about 212 pounds down to about 175 pounds (for reference, I am 5' 1" tall and I turned 59 in mid-January). After finishing chemo and through the course of time, at my last follow-up cancer appointment in March 2023, I was back up to the 212 pounds (i.e., back where I was before chemo). At that appointment I told the nurse practitioner that when I came back for my next appointment I was going to be different and he wanted to know what I meant by "different" and how I was going to achieve that goal. At the time I really didn't know the exact journey that I would take, but I had put it out there to him and I was absolutely determined to not fail. I officially began my health journey at the beginning of June 2023 at 211.9 pounds and by the middle of September (at that follow-up appointment) I was down to 163 pounds. I achieved that weight loss goal by walking every single day on the treadmill that is in the exercise room in our apartment community and by following the 16:8 version of intermittent fasting. Since that last appointment in September, as of this morning (May 10, 2024) I weighed 149.4 pounds. I no longer walk every single day, but I do try and walk at least 5 times per week for at least a minimum of 30 minutes each time. This was challenging after I broke the big toe on my left foot and wasn't really able to walk. But I am back to it now after about a 3 month hiatus. And I no longer adhere to the strict 16:8 version of intermittent fasting.

For me, what kept me motivated was seeing my progress, making the statement about being "different" at my March 2023 appointment (I had to put my money where my mouth was), and having my older sister as my cheerleader truly was a game changer. Her words of encouragement and support was HUGE for me! I would say that I tend to fluctuate between the 149 to 152 pound weight range, and I have learned to be okay with that. Considering where I began my journey in June 2023 ~~ less than one year later I am down about 60 pounds and I consider that a victory and I am beyond happy and proud of my accomplishment!!

Intermittent fasting. I will say is good for any kind of auto immune disease because it’s downtime for your gut and that’s when it heals so good for your skin and your gut.!

You truly are an inspiration. I had actually never tied weight gain to death. I was very small and active when I was young.
When I married at age 18 I was 100# now 40 years later I’m at 273#.
I’ve had lots of loss (Father, Brother and Mother) I’ve also had brain surgery 1 year after marriage and experienced breast cancer, double mastectomy and 2sets off implants.
I’m a survivor and for that I’m grateful.
I truly do want to lose weight and I need to figure out what the best route is.
I take high powered medicine for seizures that I’ve fought ever since I turned 19 years old.
I keep watching you and praying I can get back in a routine. You are my inspiration! Thank you ❤
