Though I agree the flame breath has something to do with Amethyst, as she does talk with the second mouth and can light the whips on fire, Ruby also has flame (or at least heat) powers and has a similar personality to Amethyst. The are both impulsive and at times reckless, as shown in Sugalite, they drowned out Sapphire otherwise Sugalite would have been more forward thinking. My point is, is that I think Alexandrite two faces are controlled by Amethyst and Ruby, and Pearl and Sapphire respectively which is why Alexandrite has multiple personalities but since Ruby and Sapphire have such a close bond they can speak as Garnet.

I think the Firebreath is a combo of Ruby and Amethyst, as Amethyst can't naturally project fire (unless she eats a form of fuel) and can only set her whips on fire, and Ruby can project heat as shown previous and by combining the ability to create fire, and the ability to project heat means Alexandrite can project fire, hence why the fire is reddish rather an Amethyst purple due to the inclusion of Rubies heat

I think the flame breath comes from Amethyst and Ruby. Sugalite might have that, too, but she just gets carried away and likely forgets to use it. Pearl might be that bit of focus, I suspect.

I tend to sometimes think Pearl rather had a very weak form of Hydrokinesis, only strong enough to control the small amounts of water in clouds and the small amount of water in Sand on a Beach... Not strong enough to fight with, but enough to demonstrate things

In one of the pictures for alexandrite amethyst's gem has a pentagon in the middle not a hexagon like normal

Someone should edit the Amethyst wikia page and add the Fire ability to it

Here is kinda a primary question. We know that the gems all have some potential beyond punching and kicking. And yet in battle we rarely see them use them.

Pearl has the power to create ultiple projections that can physicaly harm enemies.

Garnet can control electicity.

And Ameethst has her shapeshifting powers, but we only rarely see her use em. Hell i think part of the reason why she struggled so against jasper is because she was trying to fight LIKE jasper.

However we rarely see them use these powers on a constant basis. And we have yet to be given a reason why.

I have heard this a couple of times and I am definitely sure it is true I believe it too, but I think Alexandrite is Unstable because she does not have a fusion weapon. Also in the Malachite V Alexandrite episode she has to force herself to stay together.
