This is a 1979 PUCH Magnum MK II moped with less than 50 miles on it. This bike was one of three mopeds that were traded in at Ike's Bikes in Georgetown, OH around 2002. The original owner wanted to trade these mint bikes for one Tomos dirtbike. He said that the mopeds were bought and ridden one afternoon in 1979. They never rode them again and they were all stored in a heated garage with the fuel and oil removed. Ike took them in and kept them together for about two years before he sold the first one. A year or so after that he sold the second one and then about three years ago I bought this one from him. This was the last of the three Magnums to be started. Ike allowed me to store the bike at his place for the past three years but because he passed away, I had to go and retrieve the bike. I had to replace the fuel line and all the oil injection lines because they had hardened. I also had to replace the three shift dampeners because they were no longer supple enough to smoothly shift the bike. With all that done, the bike looks and runs like it is brand new out-of-the-box! Even though it has a 1 HP decal on the side, it still runs up to 29 miles an hour. I'm not sure if the decal was there to satisfy a state requirement, but the bike has not been modified and runs strong. I guess it's still in its "break-in" period!
