Back in 2007, I won tix to hang with Joe Satriani to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Surfing with an Alien at Hyde Street studios. He did a performance in the studio it was recorded in. I believe there were only 20 tickets in total. It was one of the greatest experiences. Joe is such a nice and approachable person. And the studios are just mind blowing.

I was a teen-aged tech intern "go-fer" part-time (while still in high school) at Wally's studio 1973-74 The tech/engineer who did some incredible work combo-ing 4 and 8 tracks before the larger Neve days is Frank Demedio (not 100% on the surname). I went to the Hyde St open house, ~a week ago. I think the only gear that MIGHT be from my days are the lala's and the pulse techniques EQ's. Wally had a Studer A-80

Awesome! I'm going to have to drive up and record there. Lots of great old gear you put to work.

Great tour and interview! I've enjoyed working in so many studios over the years, and been a guest in a number of others. One of my recent tours was Ocean Way in Nashville - I'm so glad I got to tour that facility. I think my absolute favorite was attending an orchestral session at the Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City years ago. I've yet to step into Hyde Street Studios - perhaps one day! 🙂

The booths in A were built in 1997 or 1998. I was there. 😜 LOVE to see everything is close to exactly the same! Hello to Michael Ward and any hangers on from my time!!!

Great studio, amazing staff. I would really love a full masterclass on the colour theory, it seems like an amazing tool for songwriting.

Two of my favorite Robyn Hitchcock albums were recorded at Hyde Street.

13:50 The Studer A820 and A827 were my two most favorite machines to work with in the world. The self alignment feature was pretty cool even though it had to be fine tuned a little bit.
