Black / Red: The Double Album is OUT NOW!

"Gamblers at a roulette table looking to double their money traditionally face the choice of putting it all on black or red. And on Black / Red, their landmark 12th album, Feeder also go for a high-stakes double: 18 tracks, two “discs” and one raised middle finger to today’s supposedly TikTok-ravaged short attention spans.

Luckily, if there’s any band that could be described as a sure thing, it’s probably Feeder. There’s barely been a misstep across those dozen records and while this trilogy-concluding follow-up to 2022’s excellent Torpedo is certainly ambitious, Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose emerge with their high-rolling reputations enhanced.

The ’Black’ disc continues Torpedo’s hard-rocking renaissance, the tightly wound classic rock riffing of Playing With Fire and the expansive, cinematic landscape of ELF striking a charming juxtaposition with the irresistible pop rush of Hey You. ‘Red’ isn’t quite as heavy, but it’s just as intense, stuffed with Feeder’s ’00s trademark: melody-drenched, emotive alternative-rock anthems such as Sleeping Dogs Lie, Unconditional and Here Comes The Hurricane.

Feeder are still more than capable of springing a surprise – lord alone knows what odds you’d have got on the poignant Soldiers Of Love sporting a bagpipes intro, 30 years after they first blasted out of South Wales. But as that song rails against a world 'When you feel nothing is real', you’ll realise that – whether you have time to hear these songs all together or listen to them in splendid isolation – Black / Red is an authentic representation of a great band in full, long-distance flight.

And, if you’re looking for a band to keep it real in a world of fakes, you could do a lot worse than to put it all on Feeder."

SWEET JESUS THANK YOU!
I have searched for this song for the better part of 16 years! I only knew the rhythm and not a single lyric. And, being an African, you can bet your nuts none of my friends would know this at all, let alone by the rhythm.
I searched for so long! Uncovering many of my favorite childhood songs in the process...just as recently as yesterday, I rediscovered Movies by Alien Ant Farm... But just when I was about to give the F up, I tried one more time by searching for "punk hits of the 2000's" ...
and here I am...at the 25th song in the playlist... The moment I heard the familiar tune, I was instantly flashed back to being a young teen jumping on the couch and shouting the "lyrics" along with my little sisters... I feel so effing happy!
Happy New Year everyone! May we all find all that we're looking for!

This is the very first song i played when i got to my university room in September 2001. First thing i did was plug in my Panasonic stereo, whip out the Feeder album, and play this track. I layed down on my bed, and thought to myself: "I think we're gonna make it".

I will never forget those years. Life hasn't quite planned out the way I'd hope after uni, and its been a rollercoaster to say the least, but i will always have these small moments.

This is still my favourite song of all time. I was like 4 when I heard it on GT3 and I still love it at 21.

I was 18 when this song came out. I am now 37. The years have flown by and I need my energy back from my younger days. I miss those days 😢

Who is here just because this song is F***ING LEGENDARY, not because of a film, game or TV show? One of the best guitar intros going.

This song is and will ALWAYS BE Gran Turismo 3.
I've never watched this video, but it's so 2000 ahahah
Ok so, by reading a few comments, I understand one of the members passed away, so I look it up and... Jon Lee, the drummer, passed away in January 7 2002 by suicide, which remains a mystery as of today.
But hear this.
Gran Turismo 3 came out in 28 April 2001, so when WE WERE PLAYING GT3, Jon Lee was still alive, but less than 12 months later, the tragedy would arrived.
Life is really unpredictable.
I just know that I love these songs.
Feeder rocks. Forever.

"He's got a brand new car... a brand new car... a brand new car..."

That bit always gets me. That was the year I took my A-Levels. The memories come flooding back.

Love Feeder. This song never made waves in the USA, but I always thought if a band like Sum 41 or Blink 182 had released it, it would have done really well. Has that early 2000s pop punk sound down to a tee.
