This webinar will explore the management of nuclear wastes in the UK, it’s history, how waste is currently managed and what are the ongoing and future challenges.
The session will cover:
- the history and legacy of the UK nuclear waste
- what approach and principles are used in the management of nuclear waste
- what the key radionuclides which are the most challenging
- how nuclear waste is safely treated and disposed
- the types of disposal for wastes containing different radionuclides
Speaker: Dr Carl Steele, BSc PhD CChem FRSC, Atkins Limited. Carl is a Chartered Chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). He also volunteers for the RSC and currently a member of the Process Chemistry and Technology Group.
