Happy Labor Day!

In this video I share some job interview tips for Forklift Operators (Forklift Drivers). These can also apply to many manufacturing/warehouse type of job interviews.

#FORKLIFTJOBINTERVIEW #INTERVIEWTIPS #JOBSEARCH2020
#1. Be able to talk about your forklift experience. Most large companies require at least 6 months of forklift experience. Be sure to mention whether you're using a sitdown or stand up forklift and definitely share if you have actually been certified.
#2. Be ready to answer questions about safety. Who do you feel is responsible for safety? Can you describe a situation where you have made the work place safer? Large companies have a focus on this for compliance reasons, but it is also the right thing to focus on to ensure a good positive environment for all employees.
#3. Talk about your attendance. If you've had any issues in the past (say the last 5 years), be able to discuss what happened.
#4. Be able to state why you want to apply to the job. (Not just - I need a job.)
#5. Know your dates of employment and be able to verify this. I recommend having a resume showing months and years you started and ended jobs to help you.

I hope this helps in your search for finding a forklift job and even can be helpful in finding work as a production operator or warehouse associate.

Good luck!

The real question is: why can’t company’s pretend like they care for a few hours and properly train and individual. It’s not like you’re building nuclear submarines.

We've been talked to be employees preparing for job interviews instead of entrepreneurs preparing to build generational wealth. We've been taught that it's okay to save but not to invest our savings. We will always meant to be slaves or workers working for the master or owners. I'm preferable to working for myself and have been happy for it for the last 15 years. I'm glad to say that I haven't had a job interview in years.

Great tips Jessica. Knowing your previous work experience dates is spot on. It is easy to go to a job interview and not really think about that going in, until you are put on the spot when asked. I know this from experience. Another point is be ready for a practical test. Many large corporations will put you on a lift to see what you can do. Do not lie about your experience. You will be very quickly found out. These people are trained to weed out the posers.

Great information. Didn’t realize it was this difficult to get hired as a forklift driver. Good video, could not take my eyes off the screen. 😊 Respectfully.

The fact that you are career driven is just awesome. Try doing a short video on how to operate the lift. Thanks.

As a forklift and picker operator, I messed up once in a while and my old boss threatened to fire me if I do it again, but she operates without being certified.

I drove a forklift a few times for a company I worked for for 7 years. Actual time on forklift maybe an hour total. I didn't hit anything in all 7 years. lol

Happy Labor Day! Some of the most laborious jobs out there include production and forklift operator jobs. I’ve held a number of interviews with potential candidates looking for better pay or a place where they can get better shifts (not just 3rd/overnights), however didn’t do as well as others during interviews. I hope this video is helpful those looking for this type of role that may be having challenges getting past the interview!

I have more than 30 forklift operators that I have trained in my country and need help. Most of them have 2 years experience as above and they want to explore their skills outside the country. Looking forward to work with you. Want to help them work.
