Although the MiG-29 is definitely better, the Yak-141 has been surprisingly fun to play. It's definitely not as good as the F-16/MiG-29/F-14, but it's definitely still worth trying out!

I think the missiles are now better because of the change of heat spread on the aircraft's surface a few patches ago where going mach for a long time will heat your plane up and cooling it can take longer. Meaning that IR missiles have more to hit in all aspects. Probably why the 27T and 9l feel more flare resistant at times.

As far as the name goes, the Soviets called it the 41, Yakolev called it the 141 along with basically everyone else.

So it's as you said technically both so just choose what you prefer tbh.

bro Yak-141 was a project of improvement of Yak-41, that was an improvement of Yak-38, that was a serial version of Yak-36. There also was a Yak-241, but it's all secret and no more than just rumours.

Engines have been made “hotter” which makes it easier to hit them with IR missiles, especially if they run full afterburner constantly.

100k off this thing and man is the Yak 38/Su-25K/23ML-induced grind taken me a while to get to this thing, time to grind the rest out and spend 20 games trying to get my R-27ERs :(
