💻 Video Description:

With hundreds of medical providers working at Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) across the country, standardizing the medical qualification process for military applicants is a challenge.

But the United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) is taking that challenge head on. USMEPCOM recently updated the Supplemental Policy Guidance and Supporting Medical

Documentation Review Program to address this need for standardization.
Through the Pentagon's new health information system, they can now identify and evaluate 38 health conditions that previously disqualified individuals from military service.

Among the most notable? attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. Over the past nine months, nearly 900 recruits with this diagnosis have enlisted. For a list of other conditions

ADHD will never be a problem when everyone is up on deck for a personnel inspection at Parade Rest, and the CO shows up 45 minutes late. Wait, did I just say that?

I am trying to join the Air Force but worried to go to MEPS because I went to my primary care doctor around 6 months ago after a friend passed away. I was not given an official “diagnosis” of depression, but I went for general therapy, and was told I most likely had depression.

I do not agree with this statement as I lost a friend and have never displayed signs of any self harm or any depressive episodes. Would it be possible to get a waiver?

I am stressed about MEPS because of MHS Genesis.

What happens if I can not get medical records if I never been to a hospital and I need a waiver?

It’s funny because current military members can be diagnosed with adhd and get put on medication and continue their contract no problem. You just can’t fly a plane in the Airforce while medicated 😂 but since I’m back on adhd meds for college, I can’t join until I’ve been off my medication for a year or two. If I would’ve known that in November 2023 when I got accepted into tech school, I wouldn’t have gotten back on the meds in December. 😔 I’ll just stick to school for now

Question. So I’m 2018 I was on a horrible sleep schedule and wanted to take a sleep study at my hospital, signed my self up did a study and the results came back with the doctor stating “ I BELIVE YOU HAVE HYPERSOMNIA “ he prescribed me nuvigil. I took 1 and I hated it. Never took anymore or even went back. How do I go about this.

What about prescriptions for very low anxiety. Will they reconsider the waiting period?

I have an acquaintance whose wife is a helicopter person. He said she had to get a waiver b/c she has poor depth perception. I was like "WTF". Can you imagine being in a helicopter with her? Pilot: "Smith, whats our altitude?" Smith: "5, 000 feet!" Helicopter:
Pilot: "Smith you said 5K feet!" Smith: "Sorry i misjudged, it was 500feet"
