Dermatologist shops Sephora’s best and worst sunscreens #shorts

Dermatologist Dr Alexis Stephens shops Sephora’s sunscreens.

Sunscreen helps fight the visible signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, and most importantly skin cancer but because It needs to be reapplied frequently and worn so often I personally find $70 for a sunscreen a bit steep.

What’s your fav sunscreen? Have you tried Ilia or Supergoop?

Very relieved seeing supergoop, bought it last week and it’s great! No cast, weightless and has a natural look to it. (Specifically the unseen one)

If you cant afford supergoop, i reccoment novea water gel sunscreen! Its light and absorbs easil, leaves no cast and its only about 14 dollars for about 8 oz!

I always felt like super goop was overrated, I’ve tried three of their sunscreens and I just couldn’t justify paying that much when I can get a sunscreen for 1/4 the price that works wayyyy better! Idk I love thick sunscreens so it’s easy to apply thick enough for coverage and super goop is just... too goopy for me. I could never figure out how to get enough on my face without having to do 3-5 layers of it

I your her channel. The only challenge I find is you're not specific with skin types when you recommend a product. I am oily/acne prone and difficult to find products. I hope in future you will consider mentioning skin types for the products you recommend. Thank you.

Love seeing that Supergoop powder mentioned! I’ve been using it since it was released (wish they still had the older style brush tho). I don’t even bother w another setting spray/powder anymore. If it’s part of my routine already, no concern or trouble remembering to reapply.

Dear Dr. Stephens: Thank you for that, the problem with sunscreens for those of us on a limited income, Social Security retirement at 68, I usually buy a general sunsncreen for the body, and a separate one for the face. I am between a 2 and 3 or the scale of skin types, being full blooded Italian. I would like to see one at either Target or Walmart, and make these companies understand, that sunscreen is not a luxury, it is a necessity! Please forgive my spelling errors!

Love Supergoop! As a women of colour when I tell you there’s no white cast, I mean there’s absolutely no white cast

Hi Dr Alexis Stephens, I have dark skin and I would like to know if you have any sun serum or sun oil recomendations. I would love to try the ILIA but its not available in Canada.

I am not a huge fan of Sephora nor Ulta, although I used to pop into the now shuttered ‘The Cosmetics Center’ in Charlottesville VA from time to time — years ago! These stores are more pricey than not, and tend to carry an iffy range of items. One often fares much better going directly to online only cosmetics stores, or the product company itself! Sephora is headed to Target now. Target’s foot traffic is bound to be good for them! I wish them nothing but the best! Expect “Even Greater Things, ” in 2021! Shalom! ⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸⭐️
