i like how in the movie, his clothes are turned invisible along with the rest of him..just the one outfit, sure, but it still neatly avoids the "naked man running around" becomes an important plot point in the climax of the movie.

LOVED this film for many years, Very funny, and brilliantly entertaining, Chevy was on top rib tickling form while still delivering the dramatic beats, its a sci-fi, action love story and its got a great ending too, one of Carpenter best and most underrated films !

The best thing John Carpenter got out of this movie was a friendship and working relationship with Sami Neil.

I like this movie a lot. Is it anywhere near my favorite Carpenter film? No. Is it still a really solid flick? Oh, heck yes.

Man I LOVED this film when I was a teen. You really can't even praise Chase's old work without people screaming at you about how much he sucks now.

One of my favorite books. A lawyer that took a sabbatical to write something that lived in his head for decades. Great, stressful book.

The best scene in the movie, when Sam Neill realizes Chase is in his office, is pretty good, but in the book...

Highly recommended read.

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid. I didn't know people didn't like it. I didn't know Chevy Chase was a hard actor to work with. I didn't even realize it was a John Carpenter movie (I did know who he was at the time.) I just thought it was funny, thought the effects were cool, and seemed like a good movie to me. And that's all that matters.

I remember HBO hyping this movie up before it came out. I was a kid and was excited to see it. Still holds a nostalgic place in my heart.

I remember watching this on cable with my parents. The effect scenes really impressed me, I think it's time to give this a rewatch!

Chevy Chase, talented and handsome as he was, could have ruled hollywood if he'd just learned the basic lesson of not treating everyone like shit.

I will always defend this movie. It’s another example of a movie getting hate solely because it wasn’t what audiences expected.

The book was so good. The character was pretty proactive and worked towards a goal. I enjoyed his inventiveness. Since reading the book, I then went on to enjoy similar books. The "Jumper" series and "Helm" by Steven Gould. "How Like a God" by Brenda W. Clough.

I would have been interested in seeing how it would have turned out if Ivan Reitman or Richard Donner directed. It was originally Reitman attached, but Chevy Chase is hard to work with and clashed with Reitman, and then Donner was attached but then left

I prefer this over that lifetime movie from 2020. Amazing effects.
