How much you earn as a youtuber in 2022 varies on many different factors! I broke down exactly how much YouTube ad revenue paid me in August 2022.

This is an educational video advising how much YouTubers make from ads on their videos.

YouTube is a great platform if you learn to monetise it correctly. YouTube as a side income is an increasingly popular way to make money so I thought it was important to explain how YouTubers make money from ads.

Please be aware, this is only the money I make from YouTube ads, YouTube Shorts and the TikTok Creator Fund. Many YouTubers also make income from brand deals/affiliates/etc. which is not something I do enough to discuss. if you want to see me talk about how to make money from YouTube with these other methods then let me know!

I love the "obviously I'm not stupid" line. You're so fun to watch no matter the topic. I considered making a youtube channel for Sims during the pandemic as well, but I've never had a big personality which I feel you need to gain a good set of followers. I've recently began playing The Sims Freeplay after the Sims Summit and I swear every time I play it, I hear your voice going, "The Sims 4 could never". I'd love to see you do a review of yourself playing that game or something in regard to Sims Freeplay. It is surprisingly addicting and has furniture that looks like high quality Sims 4 CC AND does so much more than Sims 4, its mind blowing.

I appreciate you being transparent about this! I also started a youtube channel in earnest this year (in a totally different arena) and its very helpful to know what some of the metrics are like. I think it will be awhile before I am monitized, but I have been really thinking about what types of videos I want to do.

Hey Satch! LOVED this video! As a small creator in the same niche as you I found all the info so helpful! I’d love a video all about the business side of running a YouTube channel in the UK (such as going over the process of registering as self employed with a YouTube channel, etc) because I think most of the creators talking about this topic are US based. If that’s something you’re comfortable talking about, I’d be all over it! Keep up the great work, you’re an inspiration :)

Satch, I watch more youtube as theres so much S*** on TV, and non of my 4 grown up kids nor thier kids watch TV much either, I think your under estimating how many people prefer youtube over TV thses days, I found your channel by hitting 'SIMS' at the top what to look at options row, when there were no new posts from other simmers that i regularly watch. And you're now one of my favoraite 2 Simmers to watch, (CallmeKevin is my number one of course, if youve watched his sims videos you'll know why 🤣🤣🤣) keep ploughing on, love your content, who knows maybe 2 years from now you'll have the home of your dreams, all paid for by your hard work on youtube, That i wish for you, your a delightfull young man to watch, so open, funny and honest, I hope your Mum is very proud ♥

This was really interesting, thank you! I've been toying around with trying to grow my channel in a musical direction but I have terrible anxiety and it is just such a struggle to juggle what you want to do with what you feel your limitations are.

I used YouTube Shorts to blow my channel up. Took me 7 months to reach 150k subscribers. I just got my checkmark and the silver play button. I posted 4 shorts per week the first 3 months and then went to 2 per week. Now, I'm planning on adding in some long form content to boost the income. My first month being monetized I made over 2k. Keep at it!

yes, I started this year (2024) & I got job 6am - 6pm then I record after work its bit tiring, but I set my goal to push as many videos as possible I can for this whole year of 2024 and see how it goes I started Jan 19 :D

I started a YouTube channel about a year and a half ago, but as a stay at home mom with high needs children, the time I have to actually make videos is somewhat sporadic. I could not start a channel before that because A) I was looking after my kids 24/7 during the pandemic without breaks, and B) I didn’t have a video card that could do video capture.

Things are better now, and I’m starting to get more subscribers, and I’m hoping to make even just a bit of money!
