TO THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS : ⁠ long story short, this is an extended cover of /song/ that is heard in an unidentified recording someone posted a few years ago asking what the song is. the search has expanded into a sub-community of a separate community known as "lostwave" where they collect unidentified recordings, mostly physical media or on websites where that sort of question is asked, and we/they solve those recordings / let evryone know where the music is from. there are thousands of lostwave tunes out there. this one is called EKT as an abbreviation of the opening chorus's lines "everyone knows that." though the song is likely titled Ulterior Motives. EKT was only posted a few years ago from a recording from '97, but most lostwave tunes are decades old, and most of the cases have gone totally cold. its a long long story.

Dude, I think the best part is that, the video kinda works with the "shifting disguise" lyrics, so it just makes it even better

you know what's crazy? the original song could sound NOTHING like this, and we wouldn't know until it's found. every one of these remakes is purely speculation.
