I’ve avoided this watch but just ordered the 3861 sapphire because of the new movement mainly and the small little upgrades they made while keeping it true to its iconic roots meant it was time to get it but yea it’s a little pricey but it’s called inflation everything is going up not just watches!

I’ve had the sapphire 3861 since the beginning of the year and I still find myself in awe of it! Unless you have ultra sensitive skin, I think the “sharp edge” concern is a bit of an internet over dramatisation. It’s definitely a keeper.

This is the prime example if a perfect watch as long as it can handle more than 50 meters....just an outstanding Legend....owned one in 1981 and it's one I wish I would have worn and kept.

These macro shots makes this watch looks much nicer than in real. e.g. The step dial, the depth, the legibility is more pronounced in these macro shots. And when I go to my local AD, I am thinking to myself, is this really the same watch. Still a very nice watch and may be I will get it some day, but it looks much sharper in these videos.

I've looked at the Sapphire version a few times in person over the last couple months, really considering a purchase amongst others on my collection list. But every time I try it on, it doesn't strike me. Idk I have mostly been wearing watches in the 43 to 44mm range lately and this one seems to wear way smaller than 42mm. I have a 7.75 wrist so the taper is super dramatic and it wears small. I want to like it so bad but not sure I do
