The Necromanteion is the temple of Hades, the god of the underworld. It is a place where the ancient Greeks would come and talk to the dead as they believed souls would enter the underworld through fissures and cracks in the ground.
Historically it is where Odysseus went to meet Teiresias in the underworld to acquire an oracle for his return to Ithaka.
This is probably the coolest place I've ever been to, mixing 2 interest of mine - ancient history and hauntings.
