As someone who has been trying to learn guitar for decades I am blown away by what is now available to me from Marty, including this lesson. Great lessons, great enthusiasm, great production. It really is the gold standard for guitar instruction. Rock on.

I just love Marty, thank you dude. I was struggling with the finger style version and you've boiled it down beautifully so it can be worked on by us mere mortals.

Mr.Swartz there are no words to describe how invaluable you've been in teaching me(and others im sure) a list of covers that I can play at parties and get the room chanting whilst soaking up all the adorations and compliments, which really you deserve.thank you so much for all the time you've given to us.well done.

Love this classic tune, especially the version from the unplugged record. Your playing on the Gibson and the tone sounds great.

I found your tutorial on this song more than a decade ago (I think!), and I still play the same way. Today I found this version, slightly embellished. Great channel dude, love your tutorials! 😊

Dude, that Dm harmonic whatever you did at 2:26 is beautiful! You gotta teach us whatever the heck that was!

I’m 42 now. When I was in the 8th grade I ordered the Eric Clapton Unplugged CD from the Columbia House “6 CDs for a penny” ad on the back of the Parade insert in the Sunday paper. It was the last CD I chose because my dad liked Clapton. I didn’t know who he was really. This was the song that made me want to play guitar. Thanks Marty!

I haven't picked up my guitar for months but you just posted one of my all time favorites and now I am driven to learn! Marty, you are an amazing teacher! When the world opens back up again, I've gotta come see you perform! If you are in the mood you could do a whole series on Claptons unplugged!

This is one of Clapton's coolest songs. I remember first time I ever saw him play this song was the unplugged concert. he's actually finger picking the entire song. so you could play this song either flat picked or finger picked if you're more advanced. I'd love to see a tutorial for Tequila Sunrise by The Eagles. please do it for us Marty =)

Not a big deal but if I were you I’d give scrapper Blackwell props for playing the song. His version is a lot better too at least in my opinion. Probably how Clapton found it. I hate to be a purist but it just seems right. Also i see how you get more views with Clapton in the title than scrapper Blackwell. Thanks for what you do though man, inspiring new artists every day.

Ah something for us old folks, and perhaps this leads a few teens to become hooked on Clapton. Thanks, Marty!

I learned this in the key of G recently while I was learning how to use secondary dominant chords. It's a great example of how they can be inserted to make a progression more interesting.
