At the Nature Center we have a healthy population of Showy Milkweed, or Asclepias speciosa. This is the host plant for Monarch butterflies and it also serves as a nectar source for many other pollinators, such as the European honey bee, Gray Hairstreaks, native bees and more. Many other invertebrates can be found on these plants; they are like a mini habitat!
