Normal cars that are FASTER than supercars!

We’ve got news for you - some modern ‘normal’ cars are better than classic fan favourite supercars!

Now it probably won’t come as a surprise to many of you that newer, more modern cars are faster than old cars. After all, technology has come a long way over the past several decades, so that’s just the way it goes. However, we think some of you will be pretty surprised by some of these match-ups!

For example, did you know that a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer can hit 60mph quicker than an Aston Martin DB7 Volante?! Or that a Skoda Superb Estate can reach 60mph faster than a Nissan GT-R R33?! Well trust us, it can!

But that’s not all! We’re not only looking at 0-60mph times in this video, we’ll be covering a number of other performance stats, including power and top speed! The question is, which of these revelations surprised you the most? Let us know in the COMMENTS!

I remember how in my youth in the 80s and 90s, we were impressed with some new sports car doing 0 to 60 in 7 or 8 seconds.

What this means to me is, there are so many fast cars out there these days that it's no longer about buying a car to be the fastest (someone's ALWAYS faster) but rather about buying what you'll enjoy and have fun with.

I was shocked at how powerful basic EVs were and thought they'd be blisteringly quick but the weight penalty means the driving dynamics are terrible at the moment. I mean, I could go faster on a plane but it doesn't mean I'm going to enjoy it more than driving my car.

One thing these videos of vs EV vehicles never seems to bring up, is that quick as the EV's are off the mark, many of the fast petrol cars will end up catching them and overtaking them at high speed.

I think you should have mentioned you were talking about the first generation of the Murcielago from 2002. The later LP-640 had 640hp and does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds

Comparing old supercars with modern vehicles and saying they slow is unfair, because back then, they WERE the quickest cars.

Figures are one thing, but enjoyment is massive aspect for car people. A decent Tesla or a Porsche Taycan will outrun pretty much anything petrol, but it’s the keys to the petrol car you grab for a Sunday morning blast unless you’re dead inside

In the 1980's cars reached the 'Fast enough' level. The difference between supercars and normal cars - is the magic, the sense of ocassion. Drive 1 mile in a modern car it is numb, boring. Drive 1 mile in a 80's, 90's supercar - wow, omg, what a feeling, what an experience.

That’s a wrong comparison, the Ferrari F430 Scuduria has the same 0-60 timing as the Audi RS3 but doesn’t mean the RS3 will outperform the F430, they don’t have the same 60-100 or 60-130 if you race a RS3 vs F430, the RS3 will wreck it until 80 mph after it get left by the Ferrari due to the Aero and gearing.
