Foo Fighters released an update announcing all of their upcoming shows would understandably be canceled. Tributes from around the world poured in in memory of Taylor Hawkins.

This feels like I lost a friend, I have been legitimately hurting over this since it happened, their music has done so much for me and Taylor had always such amazing spirit in the band and it’s the end of an era. I went to the rock and roll hall of fame inductions with my mom just for the foos and he really brought it all together there, it’s just unbelievable that he’s gone

I was a Nirvana fan and became a HUGE fan of the Foos. Taylor was an unbelievable drummer and I was blessed to see them twice in South FL. Taylor truely is irreplaceable and as much as it hurts me I would not be mad if Dave decides to retire the Foo Fighters. They made outstanding music over the last 27 years and brought smiles and enjoyment to millions. I think maybe its time to retire as I see no replacement for the drum God Taylor was. I’m still shocked by this loss. Even my mother, 76 years old, called me yesterday and asked me how I was doing. She knew how much the Foos music has meant to me and my 23 year old son, who’d been raised on the band. His first stadium show was the Foos when he was 11. Taylor had such a light inside him that the world will be so much darker without. 😓🖤

When we lose our musicians... It hurts. Whether we know them or not personally, we know them through the heart and soul they give us in their music. We know them through the lyrics, chords, and rhythms they write. Just like they know us through the music they give us... Don't ever think for a minute that they're too busy to go through and read comments... They know when what they've poured their heart and soul into for us saves our lives, makes us smile, and let's us cry. They feel those same emotions giving us their songs...

As a long time fan of Foo Fighters and knowing what he was like as a person, his death has hurt, really hurt. It’s definitely not going to be easy for Dave, Pat, Nate, Chris, and Rami for the upcoming months, and even years, plus for his family too. He may be gone but he will not be forgotten and his spirit will live with them all.

My heart breaks for Foo :( we finally got big shows back and I can’t imagine how excited they were for playing shows again to only have it end:( it breaks my heart so much for them :(

I really hope the Foo Fighters call it quits because nobody could ever replace Taylor Hawkins as their drummer, he was such a huge part of the bands live shows and just essence in general, RIP Taylor, you will never be forgotten 🍻
