An Inside Look at the Dual Language Academy at Glenview Elementary

In this video, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) principal, Alondra Ramos, provides an overview of the first two years of the Dual Language Academy program at Glenview Elementary School in Anaheim, CA.

The Dual Language Academy is a 50-50 model, with 50% of instruction in English and 50% of instruction in Spanish each day. Classes are comprised with a balance of students who speak English only in the home, and students who speak Spanish in the home, in an effort to create a true immersion experience in the classroom. Teachers work in close partnership, collaborating within the 50/50 model, and are highly qualified, holding a specialized Bilingual Authorization credential, along with a strong understanding language acquisition.
