I think my main takeaway from this video is to set aside time for reading. A collect a lot of interesting links from all over, but never schedule reading time. Until now 😀

Since I exclusively use Safari on my Mac and iPhone, there is nothing better for me to use than the, "reading list". I can easily place those articles I want to read into that category via bookmark>reading list. That works for me but like some have said, I need to find routine time to read all those articles.

Thank you for the video Carl. I’ve been researching both Instapaper and Readwise. I really like the fact Readwise accepts multiple sources, including quotes from podcasts. I have started using your Time Sector method and moved my projects from Todoist to Apple Notes. I know Readwise will integrate with Notion and a couple other apps, but I haven’t been able to figure out if it will work with Apple Notes. It would be great to send excerpts/info collected in Readwise to my projects in Apple Notes. Do you have any insight on this? Thank you again, really enjoying your instructional videos.

I have used quite a lot of the reading later apps, but honestly i think the best one is still Safari's reading list. Very quick to add, and can be cleared very fast as well.

But readwise costs money after one month, right? Thanks for your help!

I have found that being more judicious about what I clip for later is helpful. I used to clip anything that was even remotely interesting. Now I understand that my time is limited, so something needs to be pretty compelling to make it onto the read later list.

How do you actually filter the email to go into insta paper? say I have newsletters that I want to put into a read later app to ensure that I'm reading them. I'm not even sure how to get them to that read later at

I've slowly moved away from Pocket to Evernote even though I like Pocket's highlighting better. One reason is many articles I read are behind subscription walls, so Pocket can't download them. Also, about a year or so ago, the export from Android Pocket to Evernote broke, and Pocket has never moved highlights to Evernote. So now I just webclip to an offline Evernote notebook; though highlighting in Evernote is clumsy and not as easy as Pocket.

What I missed is that part of allocating time for reading and crating a habit as this bug me with the “read later” apps. They don’t basically teach us how to make a habit of reading, they teach us how to “save and forget” and it doesn’t matter if it’s pocket, instapaper or safari read later…

An issue that has been bugging me for a while. How do you handle reading as a task itself in your task list? If you have a routine to read for 30mins each day, what if you have a long piece of 50mins to read? Set up a new task just for that? Then you have duplicated a task into two different systems. What is your solution?
