#howto #nextcloud #moving #datadirectory #windows #snap #ubuntuserver Nextcloud snap how to move existing data directory to windows shared folder. There are many reasons as to why, moving to data to windows shared folder is a good thing. Because backups are easier done through windows like backing to tape drive or moving to online cloud. Managing and revert back in case of wrong settings is easier in windows for hyper v virtualisation.

Most things are more familiar and almost accident proof in windows because uninstall and restarting fix most things compared to linux, as it generally saves the settings and need of tedious research and troubleshooting, would waste precious time.

After I did all the settings I've got this: "Your data directory is invalid Ensure there is a file called ".ocdata" in the root of the data directory." The file is there!
